“lead a quiet life…work with your hands…win the respect of outsiders.” 1 Thessalonians 4:11-12
Hey, we are Hope and Hannah, the mamas behind the Crunchy(ish) Mamas blog. We are two friends that met at Church in a newlywed class. God bonded us right away with a Bible study we started out of our homes. This grew into a deep friendship and God has allowed us to walk similar paths. We even had baby boys on the same day and got to have rooms across from each other in the hospital!
Over time, we have come to have a passion for the simpler, more holistic life. And after a passing joke about starting a blog…The Crunchy(ish) Mamas was born.
We have both spent years untangling our views on health and how they relate to God. And honestly, sometimes the posts we read can leave us feeling anxious and overwhelmed. It feels like if we are using any plastic or haven’t filtered every ounce of water we drink, then we have totally failed our families! But this way of life should be filled with grace and balance. We believe that we were called to this lifestyle because it is how God intended for us to live. And guess what, we serve a gracious and merciful God!
God doesn’t want us to feel anxious or burdened by all the information out there. So, our goal is to take this one step at a time and not worry if we have a mess up here or there (hence the -ish part of crunchy(ish)). Find an area you’re passionate in, research it, and begin to implement it. Then, repeat the process until you look back and see how far you’ve come.
We hope our blog inspires you to create a life that helps you slow down, get back to your roots, and find joy in the simpler things.
