Granola is a great go to breakfast or snack when you are short on time. This quick and easy granola recipe is healthy, simple to make, and will save you a ton of money compared to store bought granola.
One thing I love about granola is that once you have a good base recipe, you can customize it for whatever you are feeling that week. You can add in different nuts and dried fruits or leave it plain and pair it with some yogurt and fresh berries. The recipe I am going to show you today is vanilla and almond. But you can easily add or swap ingredients to fit your preference.
To start, you will need 3.5 cups of oats. I buy a big bag of organic sprouted oats at Costco once a month and use it for oatmeal, granola, and smoothies. Next you will add 3/4 cup of slivered almonds. But if you are not a fan of almonds, just switch it out for whatever nut or dried fruit you would like. Next add in 1/3 cup of brown sugar. Personally, I love brown sugar but, if you are looking for a healthier swap you can always add in honey instead. After this you will add in 1/4 of maple syrup and 1/4 cup of olive oil. The last part is adding in 1 tbsp of vanilla, 1 tsp of cinnamon, and 3/4 tsp of salt.
Once you have all the ingredients in the bowl, just mix it all up and spread onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Finally, you will cook at 250 degrees for 75 minutes.
This granola recipe is a fan favorite in my family and I hope your family will enjoy it as well.
